As I wrote in my January blog, the new year has three levels. January was about hibernation, resting, reflecting, and recharging. We needed that time to slow down, process the past year, and gather our energy. But now, February is about waking up. It may be a short month, but it plays a powerful role in preparing us for what is next.
March is coming, and with it, the energy of spring, is a time for activation, growth, and forward motion. But here is the thing: If we wait until March to start, we will already be behind. Instead, we can use these next two weeks to light the fire, shake off the winter slump, realign our energy, and step into the next phase of our second act with intention.
So how do we do that? By focusing on three key areas: energy alignment, intentional preparation, and micro-momentum. Let’s break them down.
1. Energy Alignment: What’s Fueling You vs. What’s Draining You?
By mid-February, the new year’s excitement has worn off, and we can clearly see what is working and what is not. Before we can move forward, we need to check in on our energy. Are we spending time on things that truly align with our goals and values? Or are we stuck in habits, commitments, or mindsets that are keeping us in place?
Think about it like this: If you are trying to build a fire, you need good fuel. Wet wood won’t burn. It’s time to clear out what is not serving us and make space for what will actually keep our fire going.
Try this: Make a quick Fuel vs. Drain list. Write down the things that energize you and the things that leave you feeling exhausted or uninspired. Then, choose one thing to let go of and one thing to double down on for the rest of the month.
2. Intentional Preparation: Laying the Groundwork for March
Spring is coming, and with it, fresh opportunities. But instead of waiting for the shift to happen to us, let’s start setting things in motion now.
What part of your life needs preparation? Maybe it’s your health getting back into a consistent movement routine so you feel strong and ready for spring. It may be your business clarifying your focus so you can hit the ground running. Or maybe it is your mindset shedding old doubts so you can step into a season of growth with confidence.
Try this: Choose one area of life to prep for growth. It doesn’t have to be huge just one simple shift that will make March feel effortless instead of overwhelming.
3. Micro-Momentum: Small Actions, Big Impact
A lot of people think renewal requires a massive overhaul. It doesn’t. Fundamental transformation happens through small, consistent actions. These next two weeks are about building tiny micro-momentum steps that create lasting change.
The key is to choose something doable something that feels like progress but doesn’t overwhelm you. Because once you start moving, even in small ways, momentum builds. And before you know it, you are ready for what’s next.
Try this: Set a two-week challenge for yourself. Pick one simple habit or action to focus on daily something that will fuel your growth. Maybe it is 10 minutes of movement, a morning journaling session, or reconnecting with one person a day. Whatever it is, commit to it for the rest of the month and watch how it shifts your energy.
Your Fire is Waiting
February isn’t just a bridge between winter and spring; it is the spark that prepares us for what’s next. These next two weeks are an opportunity to shift, realign, and reignite our energy so that when March arrives, we are not just thinking about growth we are ready to activate it.
So ask yourself: What needs your attention right now? What small steps can you take to fuel your momentum? Use this time intentionally, and you’ll step into spring stronger, clearer, and fully prepared for what is ahead.
Your second act isn’t waiting for a perfect moment. It starts with how you choose to rise today. Let’s light the fire.
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
God is always working on something new in us. Even in seasons that feel slow or uncertain, He is preparing us for renewal. Trust the process, take the next step, and watch how He makes a way for you. Isaiah 43:18-19
